The Samurai's Oath

I can still remember
what you have told me

as faded as i am,
as weak as i have become

i can still remember,
to never look back,
and to never look towards the future,
for today may be my last

my last...holding my sacred blade,
staring into your eyes,
tasting sweet revenge splattering on my face

i can still remember to carry honor,
and to let those that hurt me the most...die slowly,
and to let those that fought hard...die slowly,

and i will never forget the true enemy who lives inside of me,
and the spirits i must always embrace, the protectors...
and that i am alone.

Amazing. I love the feeling this gives me. I feel like there had been so much noise...screams, blades clinking, sheilds banging against each other, and then silence. THe speaker in this has such a reserved tone, and sentence structure...yet he is harsh beyond his reserved nature. Very well put together poem, you really capture the feeling. I love this. :+favlove:
